Geneva: Jet d'Eau, Old Town & Lakefront
About this guide
Geneva's symbol is the Jet d'Eau, a 140-metre water jet on the lake. The Quai du Mont-Blanc runs along the lakefront between the Pont du Mont-Blanc and the Quai Wilson, with views of the lake, the Jet d'Eau, the city and the surrounding mountains; the Bains des Pâquis on the way are open all year.
- Difficulty
Sentier du Salève: a long, steady climb on a mountain trail. Slippery in the rain; not recommended for families with young children.
- Getting there
To the cable car: tpg bus from Geneva Cornavin to "Veyrier, douane", then about 9 minutes on foot. The Sentier du Salève starts at Pont de Sierne in Veyrier. Down by cable car: cabins every 15 minutes, 4-minute ride. 2026 summer season (1 April – 1 November): last cable car down 18:45 Sunday to Wednesday, 22:45 Thursday to Saturday. Closed for maintenance 2–26 November 2026.
