About this guide
The Gletscherlehrpfad links natural-science themes with a walk through a landscape shaped by the glacier. It runs from the Felskinn cable car to the Gletschergrotte restaurant, with viewpoints along the way; Valais Tourism allows half a day for it.
The Märliweg climbs from the village square over Hohneggu into the larch forest above Saas-Fee. Between Mälchbodo and Bärufalla, illustrated panels tell children the story of Pia, who spends a day in the realm of the dwarfs and hears old legends of the Saas valley. On the Mälchbodo there is a large playground with barbecue sites.
- Difficulty
Glacier trail: partly a white-red-white mountain trail, partly unsigned paths. Märliweg and Kapellenweg: yellow hiking trails.

Märliweg and Kapellenweg: May to November.
- Getting there
Train to Visp, then PostBus 511 to Saas-Fee bus terminal. By car: multi-storey car park at the village entrance. Kapellenweg: PostBus to Saas-Grund, change towards Saas-Almagell/Mattmark, get off at Zenlauinen.
- Food & drink
Restaurant Gletschergrotte with a sun terrace at the end of the glacier trail. Playground with barbecue sites on the Mälchbodo (Märliweg).
