The Seiser Alm (Alpe di Siusi) covers 56 km², the largest high-Alpine pasture in Europe. It is a protected landscape and part of the Schlern–Rosengarten Nature Park. Cable cars climb to it from Seis and from Ortisei in Val Gardena.
The family loop crosses the meadows with a short climb to the Panorama; suitable for strollers up to the Panorama and back. The Steger-Weg runs across meadows and through forest and is suitable for prams.
Between seasons (mid-April to mid-May, early November to early December) the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway is closed.
Bus 170 from Bolzano or Brixen (or line 2 from Völs, line 3 from Kastelruth) to the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway in Seis, then the cable car to Compatsch; or the gondola from Ortisei. The road up is closed to private cars between 09:00 and 17:00. The Südtirol Guest Pass isn't valid on the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway. Dogs on a lead, with a muzzle on the cable cars.
Huts and restaurants along both walks, including the Laranzer Schwaige at the end of the Steger-Weg; opening hours on seiseralm.it.
