About this guide
St. Anton am Arlberg (1,304 m) is part of Ski Arlberg, Austria's largest ski area: 301 km of pistes and 85 lifts link St. Anton, St. Christoph and Stuben with Lech, Oberlech, Zürs and Warth-Schröcken, with over 200 km of off-piste runs. In 1921 Hannes Schneider opened one of the first organised ski schools here; his teaching became a model worldwide.
The Galzigbahn starts in the village, a short walk from the station; the Vallugabahn continues to the viewing platform on the Valluga at 2,811 m. The Arlberg-Kandahar race course is on the Gampen, the Kandahar piste on the Galzig.
- Difficulty
Blue, red and black pistes and ski routes; for the over 200 km of off-piste runs, local ski guides know the lines (Ski Arlberg).

Winter 2026/27: 2 December 2026 – 18 April 2027 (St. Anton – St. Christoph – Stuben and Lech – Zürs); limited operation possible.
- Getting there
Railjet and Eurocity trains stop at St. Anton am Arlberg, in the village centre; the slopes are within walking distance.
- Food & drink
Après-ski at the MooserWirt, open since 1989, and the Krazy Kanguruh, owned by Mario Matt since 2009.
