About this guide

Founded in 1914, the Swiss National Park in the Engadin and Val Müstair is the oldest national park in the Alps and central Europe, and Switzerland's only one and its largest wilderness area. Nature is left to develop freely here.

Difficulty: White-red-white mountain trails. Val Trupchun: a long loop with about 600 m of ascent. Kinderpfad Champlönch: shorter, along the old mule track.
Season: Val Trupchun: June to October. The park is closed in winter; when the closure starts depends on ice on the paths and streams.
Getting there: Val Trupchun: Prasüras car park above S-chanf, by bus, car or the small park train. Kinderpfad: bus stop Champlönch P1 on the Ofenpass road; Hotel Il Fuorn at the end.
Food & drink: Parkhütte Varusch with a sunny terrace on the way back from Val Trupchun; Hotel Il Fuorn at the end of the Kinderpfad. Overnight stays inside the park: Chamanna Cluozza or Hotel Il Fuorn.
