The 4 Vallées links six resorts: Verbier, Bruson, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon. With 410 km of ski runs and freeride routes it is the largest ski area entirely in Switzerland. Verbier, its best-known resort, faces the Grand Combin and Mont Blanc massifs and hosts the Xtreme Verbier, the final of the Freeride World Tour.

Difficulty: Slopes for all levels, from beginner areas with free magic carpets at Les Esserts and Les Moulins in Verbier and in La Tzoumaz to the black run from the Mont-Fort. Freeride routes are marked and secured but not groomed. Gentianes – Tortin is a marked, ungroomed freeride route with moguls, for good skiers only.
Season: The ski season usually runs from the end of November, depending on snow, to late April. Winter 2026/27: Verbier – La Tzoumaz 5 December to 25 April, 4 Vallées 12 December to 18 April, Bruson 12 December to 4 April.
Getting there: By train to Le Châble, then 20 minutes up to Verbier by cable car (to Médran) or by bus (to Station Poste), at the same fare; the bus is free for ski-pass holders on days the cable car runs. Day skiers by car park at the lifts in Le Châble, free during the day. Ski passes cover four sectors (Bruson, La Tzoumaz/Savoleyres, Verbier, 4 Vallées).
Food & drink: The lift company runs 14 mountain restaurants in the ski area; Verbier is known for its après-ski.
