About the route
The hike starts on the Grosse Scheidegg, the pass between the Haslital and Grindelwald; in summer, bus 128 runs up from Grindelwald. A gravel road leads with gentle ups and downs toward Schreckfeld and then up to First, through flower meadows with the Grindelwald mountains in view. Grindelwald Tourismus rates it easy and tags it family-friendly; you ride the First gondola down.
