About the route
The route starts above the tree line on the Schynige Platte and crosses a high plateau to Berghaus Männdlenen, looking over Interlaken's lakes to the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It then climbs to the Faulhorn, whose mountain hotel dates from 1830, and descends past the Bachalpsee to the First gondola. Grindelwald Tourismus rates it moderate, about six hours; you can split it with a night at Schynige Platte, Männdlenen or the Faulhorn.
